Issue Notice:
- On the occasion when Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand was entitled as the Mother of Thailand Biodiversity Protection, the new water lily hybrid is named Nymphaea Queen Sirikit after Her Majesty, announced by the Botanica Society under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen. This cross-breed lotus had been developed by Pairat Songpanich, a plant specialist of the Agriculture Department, taking 4 years in total. Each Lotus has 24 petals which all are purple at the tip and white at its base, while its sepals are green and white. This beautiful lotus is chosen to be the theme of Thailand 2016
- A total of 9 different sheetlets were issued (KB):
- KB(I) is the "normal" sheetlet of 10 stamps, which differs by perforated and imperforated upper sheetlet border (RDG and RNG).
- In addition, a 4p-sheetlet KB(II) has been issued with the background of this Lotus (Thailand Post).
- By P.A.T. a sheetlet Set of 6 miniature sheets (4 stamps) has been issued with a quantity of 3,000 sets. These 6 small sheets KB(III-VIII) are distinguished by the color of the miniature sheet edge, which is sufficient for one day of the exhibition (from 10.08.-08.15.2016).
- The miniature sheets III to VIII have monochrome edges: violet, green, orange, blue, yellow and red.
