- This postage stamp issue aims to publicize the honor of Dr. Puey Ungphakorn on the occasion of 100th anniversary of his birth, 9 March 2016, who was one of the excellent personalities of Siam as he had made largely significant contributions to Thailand. He won Magsaysay Award in 1965 as well as being recognized by UNESCO as one of the world´s most eminent personality for his achievement in education, social sciences and humanities. This issue includes illustrations of 4 periods of his life when he was a member of Free Thai Movement, the dean of Thammasat University, the govenor of the Bank of Thailand and at the park in England at the age of 60, photographed by Mytri (Peter) Ungphakorn, his second son.
