- Vesakh is the most important festival of Theravada Buddhism, which is practiced mainly in Thailand and reminds you of important stations of the historical Buddha.
In Southern Buddhism (Theravada) Buddhism commemorate on that day at the same time of the birth, the enlightenment and the "extinction" of the Buddha.
Like all important Buddhist festivals is Vesakh on a full moon day, in this case, on the full moon of the second month. This is usually in May of the Gregorian calendar.
The center of the Vesak festival is the life of Buddha and his teachings. The celebrations are marked by religious teachings and reciting the canonical texts of the Pali canon
